Pezeshke Nazanin | پزشک نازنین

Pezeshke Nazanin  : also known as "The Good Doctor," is a comedic and episodic play written by Neil Simon, based on some short stories by Anton Chekhov. In Iran, it has been published with two Persian translations, one by Ahoo Khademan in Negah Publications and the other with a full translation by Shahram Zargari in Nila Publications.

Excerpt from the text: Doctor: Opening the mouth doesn't hurt; now I just want to look. I need to see where it is, which tooth? What should I do? Now, open it. (The servant opens his mouth) Okay, now let me see. (The doctor looks carefully, and the servant groans in pain.) Ah... yes. Here it is. This little one is here... I found it... Ah, okay... Servant: Don't talk to him; he doesn't want to be friends with him. Kick him out.

Performance in Iranian Theater: Shahram Zargari's translation of "Physician of the Beautiful" has had numerous performances in Iranian theaters. Among the most successful ones are the public performances directed by Ashkan Khatibi and the public performances directed by Majid Zare Zadeh. Ashkan Khatibi staged this play in two series during 2019 and 2020, and Majid Zare Zadeh, despite facing censorship and strict modifications by the Supervision Council, successfully managed to stage all episodes of this play in 2019 at Azhman Theater in Tehran.

Furthermore, the play "Physician of the Beautiful," directed by Nima Hashemi, was performed in December 2022, this time in Nofel Loshato Mansion for 15 nights.
