Shab Bood : شب بود - فریدون فرخزاد : Fereydoun Farrokhzad (October 29, 1938 – August 7, 1992) was a prominent figure in Iranian arts and media, known for his talents as a poet, lyricist, singer, producer, director, and television and radio host. He also ventured into acting and composing music for several films and songs.
Following the Iranian Revolution of 1979, Farrokhzad became politically active against the Islamic Republic government and was a member of the opposition organization, Forouhar's Guards. Unfortunately, during the chain murders in Iran, he was assassinated by agents of the Islamic Republic in Bonn, Germany, in 1992. Farrokhzad is remembered as one of the most iconic showmen in Iran.
He was the brother of Forough Farrokhzad, a renowned Iranian poet whose works continue to resonate in Persian literature.
Fereydoun Farrokhzad's legacy lives on through his artistic contributions and his unwavering commitment to freedom of expression and opposition to oppression. He remains a symbol of courage and resistance in the face of authoritarianism.
