Paytakht : پایتخت (مجموعه تلویزیونی) : is an Iranian TV series in the comedy genre, directed by Sirous Moghaddam and produced by Elham Ghafouri. The show has been broadcasted over six seasons on Channel One of IRIB. The story revolves around the humorous and sometimes poignant adventures of the "Ordinary Family," led by Naqi Ma’mooli, as they navigate life's challenges and cultural shifts, particularly when they move from their small village, Aliabad, to Tehran, the bustling capital of Iran.
Season 1 (2011): The first season follows the Ma’mooli family's relocation to Tehran. However, upon their arrival, they encounter numerous problems: their landlord dies, and the heirs refuse to hand over the house, forcing them to live in a truck owned by Arastoo (Ahmad Mehranfar) due to the issues they face in Tehran.
Season 2 (2013): Naqi works in dome and minaret construction and, with Arastoo's truck, becomes responsible for transporting a dome and minaret to a village in Qeshm. They encounter a series of entertaining events along the way, including a telephone contest, getting stuck in a restaurant, towing council officials' vehicles, and Arastoo falling in love.
Season 3 (2014): Arastoo falls in love for the third time and plans a wedding. The ceremony is held in Naqi's unfinished house, and the evening ends in disaster when the building collapses, injuring everyone. Following this, Naqi stays with his sister Fahimeh and becomes estranged from Arastoo.
Season 4 (2015): Homa Sa’adat wins a city council election, and Arastoo’s Chinese wife dies in a plane crash. Naqi and his relatives, with the help of Ous Musa, secretly build Fahimeh's house, leading to various humorous and dramatic incidents, including Baba Panjali's marriage, Naqi and Homa's disputes, and Behbood's adventures in Africa.
Season 5 (2018): Arastoo buys an expensive car that ends up in a river, causing severe injuries to the Ma’mooli family and heightening tensions between Naqi and Arastoo. The family's trip to Turkey, meant to improve their spirits, turns into a series of misunderstandings and conflicts, particularly when they are unwittingly involved in a smuggling operation.
Season 6 (2020): The storyline kicks off with the death of Baba Panjali and touches on themes such as organ donation. Behbood returns to Iran after years but faces challenges that cause a rift between him and Fahimeh. Naqi takes on a political role and becomes a driver and bodyguard for a parliament member, while his wife Homa becomes a news anchor. Arastoo inadvertently gets involved in drug trafficking using Naqi's vehicle.
