Majaraye Nimrooz : ماجرای نیمروز : "The Midday Event" is an Iranian film directed by Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian, with a screenplay by Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian and Ebrahim Amini. It was produced by Seyed Mahmoud Razavi and released in 2016.

The film won several awards at the 35th Fajr Film Festival, including the Crystal Simorgh for Best Film, Best National Film, and Best Film from the Audience's Perspective. Behzad Jafari Tadi also won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Set and Costume Design.

It was released in Iranian cinemas on March 15, 2017. The film revolves around the assassinations carried out by the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization in 1981 and the events following the dismissal of Abolhassan Banisadr.

The sequel to this film, titled "The Midday Event: Red Carpet," was released in 2020.

Summary:
"The Midday Event" delves into the assassinations carried out by the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization in 1981. These conflicts escalate after Abolhassan Banisadr's dismissal from the presidency by the Islamic Consultative Assembly. Following Banisadr's removal, anti-government groups like the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization successfully carry out assassinations against senior government officials. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Intelligence and the Revolutionary Guards collaborate to arrest members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization. Amidst this turmoil, the film explores the relationship between a member of the Revolutionary Guards and a woman from the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization who were classmates in university.
